Work in Progress:
Byron (Horrocks), the Soils Engineer, came by to take a look and the site and requested that we send him the report that Bill (EarthTech) will send us regarding their visit on site.

Chris (DG Concrete) continued to work on the waterline.  He had to run to Roosevelt for a water pump on the loader.  While he was there he picked up some more pipe.  Chris (DG Concrete) laid the water line up to the elbow to the Clubhouse.

Shad (DG Concrete) dug and backfilled 50% the foundation for Building 'C'.  Then started digging the second half.

Tim (DG Concrete) compacted the last of the sewer and backfilled the water trench up to the first manhole.

Work in Progress:

We meet with Matt (EarthTech) to discuss the structural fill.  He gave us three options for eliminating pumping in some locations on site.  Matt (EarthTech) also took a sample of the 3/8" material we would like to use under the footings.

Chris (DG Concrete) cut the pad for Building 'B' down to finish floor height with the 'dozer. Water pipe delivered at lunch.  Chris (DG Concrete) started the waterline.  The stub out from Main Street is 1 foot back behind the sidewalk.  Chris (DG Concrete) had to run and buy a sawzall to cut off the glue on cap.  He met with Dusty (Maeser) about eliminating some of the smaller angled joints by following the sewer and using 22 1/2˚ joints.  Dusty (Maeser) liked that much better.  We would be away from the curb in case he had to repair and there would be less joints.

Shad (DG Concrete) dug 33% the footings for Building 'C'.

Tim (DG Concrete) Continued to backfill the sewer with the 3/8" minus fill.  All the sewer is filled but still needs the last roll on building 'A' lateral.

(Reliance) brought a truckload of wire to store in the shipping container or Conex Container as they call it.  The container is half full already.

Work in Progress:
Jason (Legend) surveyed the water line from Main Street to the clubhouse and up to building 'E's manhole.    He also gave us grid lines on building 'C' and rough grading corners on Building 'B'.

Shad (DG Concrete) and I laid out 1/2 of Building 'C' and he started digging the footings.

Tim (DG Concrete) continued to backfill the sewer line.  He reached the manhole for Building 'D'.

Chris (DG Concrete) met with Dusty (Maeser) and tested the sewer line.  All passed.  I noticed the silt fence was comming up, Chris (DG Concrete) fixed it.

(DG Concrete) added a side dump truck to haul off the clay and bring in structural fill.

Work in Progress:
Tim (DG Concrete) removed all the mud that was excavated out of the sewer trenches.  He then back filled the sewer with the new fill material up to the Clubhouse and then down the main road to Building 'E's man hole.

Shad (DG Concrete) back filled Building 'A's garage footings with the structural fill and compacted them.

Chris (DG Concrete) graded the pad for Building 'C'.

Ben (Horrocks) tested and passed the garage footing compaction as well as the sewer trench.  He also got a proctor sample of the new fill material and a sample of the gravel for a possible mixing ratio to get the 5% less material going through the 200 sieve, required for the structural fill under the footings.

(DG Concrete) built an entrance and a ramp onto 2500 W at the southern end of the property for better access to the parking lot and the southern half of the site while the trenches are open.

Work in Progress:
Shad (DG Concrete) graded the garage pad to 8" below finish floor.  Then we laid out the footings and he dug, back filled and compacted 1/2 of them.

Chris (DG Concrete) finished the sewer laterals to each building but ran short of pipe on building 'C'.  He ran to Mountain Land and grabbed more pipe and finished all the laterals.  The water table is right near the sewer depth at the Building 'B' and Building 'D' manhole.

Tim (DG Concrete) back filled the main sewer with the new fill material
up to the Clubhouse

Patrick (DG Concrete) dug up the temp power and internet wires, while scooping the structural fill with a front loader.  I ran to Lowes grabbed wire, wire nuts, tape and spliced it.

Work in Progress:
Chris (DG Concrete) Finished the sewer main line and started on laterals on Building 'A'.

Tim (DG Concrete) started back filling the trenched at the south west property line.

Shad (DG Concrete) finished the structural fill for the interior  footing of Building 'A' and noticed that the breeze way was not wide enough on one side.  He corrected it.

Jason (Legend) surveyed the sewer laterals, garage for building 'A', the corners for Building 'C' for rough grade, and the curbs of the long parking lot between Building 'C' and 'B'.  He will return next week on Tuesday to survey the water line.

Ben (Horrocks) passed all footings in building 'A' and the sewer trench up to the bottom manhole.  He is preforming a gradation test for the new fill material (DG Concrete) is using to back fill the trenches.

Work in Progress:
Chris (DG Concrete) added cutting blades on two of the three track hoes on site. Chris (DG Concrete) then installed the sewer to the manhole for Building 'D'

Ben (Horrocks) came and passed the compaction of the exterior footings compaction.  Ben (Horrocks) retested the sewer back fill compaction after Mike (DG Concrete) back filled with dry native soil in smaller lifts with the rolling wheel, on his track hoe, followed with the smooth roller on top.  The test is still at 89% and the best test was at the driest moisture

Nick (M-13) and Keith (DG Concrete) agree that we will need to use the structural fill for the trenches under the pavement as per the soils report.

Shad (DG Concrete) added the structural fill for the interior footings on Building 'A'.  Ben (Horrocks) will return tomorrow for a final compaction test on the interior footings

Work in Progress:
(DG Concrete) finished digging the footings for Building 'A'.  Nick (M-13) came up a looked over the soil condition and noted a 6' x 6' soft spot in the deepest part of  the breezeway footing hole.  Shad (DG Concrete) dug that section down 8" and added engineered fill.  After compaction that section was solid.  (DG Concrete) finished 70% of the first lift and we scheduled Ben (Horrocks) to come test the engineered fill tomorrow at 1 PM.

Ben (Horrocks) came and preformed compaction tests on the upper footings native soil, our sewer back fill, and the undisturbed native soil for a reference.  Nick (M-13) is going to go over the soils report with Bill (Geo Tech) to discuss what will be required for bridging the road.

Chris (DG Concrete) heard water in the sewer line and suspected a leak. Dusty (Maeser) broght over his camera truck down and discovered a joint leaking.  Chris (DG Concrete) dug up the pipe back to the leaking joint (Five lengths back) and hooked a choker on the track hoe and pulled it closed.  (DG Concrete) set the first manhole and laid pipe to the second manhole and set it.

Matt (HUD) came for our bi-monthly meeting.  Ether (Red Oak) and Charlie (Red Oak) were told about the processes and requirements for a HUD job (see Tuesday 5/8/2012).  Matt (HUD) asked for a "Start of Permanent Construction Letter".  Matt (HUD) also said we will need the HUD plans to include all red lines at the completion of the project.

Charlie (Red Oak) noticed a discrepancy on the plans.  Were the breezeway footings are under the interior footing detail(2/S1.2) and not frost protected like detail(6/S1.2).  Nick (M-13) called and left a message with Shaun (AE URBIA).

Work in Progress:
Footings for the south half of building 'A' dug, scarified, tested, and failed.  Too wet.  Shad (DG Concrete) and I laid out the north end of Building 'A' so he could dig the footings tonight and let them dry, compact in the morning, and have our retest at noon.

Sewer stared.  The sewer line under main street has a 2" puddle and is not strait. We are on the water table with the sewer on Main Street. Water ran out of the gravel.  Chris (DG Concrete) had to run the sump pump.  The line of the sewer was 25' feet to the east of our first manhole at 235' distance.  Chris (DG Concrete) and I  met on site with Dusty (Maeser) he suggested we set the first run with the smart level and curve it to the manhole.  We checked the slope it is 5.35' fall in 233' run or 2.96%.  Dusty (Maeser) ran and picked up a coupler for the 12" pipe because  the existing lateral had a glue on cap and Dusty (Maeser) did not want the pipe run bell down.  I noticed that the Water lateral is on west side of the sewer line and it is drawn on the east side (The reason for off set manhole problem above).  I called  Lonny (legend) and he will look it over and call me in the morning.  While compacting the sewer trench the ground had a fairly big swell to it.  (DG Concrete) had 13 loads of structural fill delivered today as well as more manhole parts and vaults.

Work in Progress:

Reliance delivered a shipping container on site.  The delivery semi had a hard time with the entrance from 2500 W (we will have to clear out a strait away and blend the elevation change) and had to exit across the field.  I called Travis (Uintah County Roads) about the track-out for Main street.  Travis (Uintah County Roads) said it would be no fee but we need to apply just like on 2500 W and we will have to replace any damaged park strip, walk, or curb.
Chris (DG Concrete) pointed out some evidence of a high water table.  The ground swells in these three locations when the front end loader runs over them
Building 'A' is to grade.  Lonny (Legend) is coming out this weekend to stake out the footings.

Work in Progress:
Last night Rulon (Reliance) ran wire to the office trailer and the excavator's RV through a trench the excavators dug with the 'dozer.  (Reliance) will be delivering a storage container on site tomorrow for on site materials.

Road is to rough grade.  2 or 3 different people are hauling dirt off site with there own trucks, which is speeding  the excavation up quite a bit.  Chris (DG Concrete) said sewer pipe should be here this week and manholes on Monday.   Building 'A's footprint and parking lot is to rough grade.  I called Lonny (Legend) to have Building 'A' staked out for start of foundation on Monday.  Lonny (Legend) will come this weekend to stake.

Strata installed INTERNET to the office trailer.

Chris (DG Concrete) and I meet with Ben (Horrocks) so he could get a native proctor.  I sent him the Geotech soils report and a schedule.
